Watch Safes

A watch safe is a safe with the winders built in: your automatics stay wound, running and ready behind a lock, rather than stopped in a drawer or sitting out on a dresser. Every Westhill watch safe is individually made to order and built to the specification you choose, which is why this is where collectors tend to arrive once a collection has outgrown a winder cabinet.

Below are the Westhill Elite safes in walnut, rosewood and carbon fibre, the heavy-duty automatic watch winder safes, and our fully bespoke models. All of them are configurable, and our Watch Safe Specialists will take you through it.

Choosing a watch safe — what to think about

Winders, drawers and layout

You choose how many winder positions the safe carries and how they are arranged, then what goes around them: multi-slot watch drawers, jewellery compartments, flexible accessory storage, and open shelving at the base for larger valuables. Each winder is programmed individually — clockwise, counter-clockwise or alternating, with touchscreen control of speed, direction, pause and lighting — so every watch runs at its own turns per day. Interior colours and materials, leather finish, lighting, door hinge direction and even the power cable position are all yours to specify.

Locking, fire resistance and security

Depending on the model, a safe opens by fingerprint, PIN, physical key or a combination of those, with multi-point locking and several fingerprints registered for shared access. Our safes carry an Anti-Theft B3 rating, with approximate cover of £6,000 cash and £60,000 valuables, and selected models add roughly two to four hours of fire resistance. Bolt-down is available on request so the safe can be fixed to the floor or a wall.

Sizes and finishes

Three standard sizes: small at 80 × 60 × 45cm and 190kg, medium at 120 × 60 × 50cm and 250kg, and large at 170 × 70 × 60cm and 370kg. Almost everything inside can be changed — the external dimensions of a given model cannot. Finishes run from walnut and rosewood through carbon fibre and piano-painted lacquer to PU and plant-skin leathers, with more than two hundred leather colours available across many models.

Made to order, and what that means for time

Nothing here is pulled off a shelf. A stock configuration is built and dispatched in about 25 to 35 days. A fully customised safe takes roughly 7 to 12 days to build once the design is settled, plus about 20 days in transit. We deliver Australia-wide; with even the smallest model at 190kg, it is worth speaking to our team about placement and access before you order.

Warranty and support

A two-year warranty against non-human damage, free replacement parts for five years, and help with servicing and maintenance well beyond that. Setting the safe up is simple — position it, plug it in, register your fingerprint and PIN — and an installation and user manual comes with every safe.

Watch safe FAQs

Are your watch safes made to order?

Yes — every one. Nothing is mass-produced or held in a warehouse waiting for a buyer, so the safe you receive is built around your collection and your room rather than around an average of everybody’s.

How much can I change?

Almost everything on the inside: the number and arrangement of winders, the drawer and compartment layout, open storage, shelving, interior colour and material, leather finish, lighting, the direction the door hinges and where the power cable enters. The one thing that is fixed is the external size of the model you choose.

Are the safes fireproof, and how secure are they?

Selected models offer roughly two to four hours of fire resistance. All carry an Anti-Theft B3 rating, with approximate cover ratings of £6,000 cash and £60,000 valuables, multi-point locking, and bolt-down fixing to the floor or wall on request.

How is a watch safe opened?

By fingerprint, by PIN, by key, or by more than one of those, depending on the model. Several fingerprints can be registered, which is what most couples and families end up doing.

How long will my watch safe take to arrive?

A stock configuration is built and dispatched within about 25 to 35 days. A customised safe takes around 7 to 12 days to build once the design is agreed, and about 20 days to ship after that. We deliver Australia-wide. Fuller answers on winding functions, materials, power and installation are on our watch safe FAQs page.
