Two things worth knowing about fire ratings generally. They describe how long the interior stays below a temperature threshold in a standardised test fire, not how long the safe survives any fire. And a rating that protects paper does not necessarily protect a mechanical watch, which is happier at a lower temperature than a document. Choosing a Size You Will Not Outgrow

Installation itself is straightforward. Position the safe, plug it into a standard power outlet, and set up your fingerprint and PIN. An installation and user manual comes with every safe. The winders and lighting need mains power — the standard cable entry is at the back lower right with a 1.5 metre cable, and the position can often be customised to suit your setup, which is worth specifying at order time rather than discovering afterwards.

Bolting down is available on request, and it is the single most effective thing you can do for security. If you own watches worth more than the standard limit, the useful sequence is: get the pieces valued, tell your insurer what you have and how it is stored, ask what the policy requires, and then choose the safe.
